With over 500 community pharmacies throughout England, Scotland and Wales, Rowlands Pharmacy is UK’s longest established chain of local community pharmacies. The objection for this large medical distribution centre was to save energy, improve working conditions and reduce Co2 emission by retrofitting LED lighting.
A mixture of high bay warehouse lighting and office fluorescent fitting were replaced during this upgrade.
By installing industry leading products combined with automatic day light dimming we have achieved a reduction of running costs from £44k per year with the existing system, to a reduced amount of £15k per year using the new LED lighting. All LED upgrades were done outside of busy office hours without causing any disruption to staff duties.
Client was very happy to acknowledge payback time of just under 4 years with all lights warranted for 7 years, maintenance free.
As a result of LED upgrade within warehouse area, the client also managed to lower their power consumption used for air conditioning units simply because new LED lights don’t generate the same level of heat as traditional lighting.
